Overview

Scotland STORM operates year-round as a structured academic enrichment and wellness program for elementary and middle school students from the historic Scotland community in Potomac, Maryland. A program of the Potomac Community Foundation (PCF), Scotland STORM is housed at Cabin John Middle School and serves students attending Bells Mill Elementary and Cabin John Middle School, collaborating closely with both schools to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth.

We hire certified educators—primarily from Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), including staff from our partner schools—who bring deep knowledge of classroom expectations and a commitment to cultural responsiveness. Our program team maintains regular communication with classroom teachers and administrators to stay informed about each student’s assignments, grades, and challenges. This ensures that support is individualized, relevant, and aligned with what’s happening in school.
